{"id":1656,"date":"2019-09-29T09:37:31","date_gmt":"2019-09-29T13:37:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/matthannan.net\/blog\/?p=1656"},"modified":"2019-09-29T09:37:32","modified_gmt":"2019-09-29T13:37:32","slug":"pi-hole-stuff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/matthannan.net\/blog\/pi-hole-stuff\/","title":{"rendered":"Pi-Hole Stuff"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I noticed that there were plenty of ads showing on my phone this morning, so I immediately started thinking that either the Pi-Hole Pi had an issue, or Pi-Hole itself was acting up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While reading the news, I saw that Pi-Hole is moving away from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"ad-block style filtering to straight up domain blocking (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/pi-hole-drops-support-for-ad-blocklists-used-by-browser-based-ad-blockers\/\" target=\"_blank\">ad-block style filtering to straight up domain blocking<\/a>. This is not being well-received. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I finally sat down at the computer, I saw that the update was waiting for me, so I did it. I also stumbled onto a page describing <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"how to get Cloudflare DNS-Over-HTTP working in Pi-Hole (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.pi-hole.net\/guides\/dns-over-https\/\" target=\"_blank\">how to get Cloudflare DNS-Over-HTTP working in Pi-Hole<\/a>. So I set that up. Now to see how this goes over the next couple of days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cloudflare seems to be eating the Internet these days. Also in the current news is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcmag.com\/news\/370979\/cloudflare-finally-launches-warp-but-its-not-a-mobile-vpn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"their quasi-VPN service is open to the public...for free (opens in a new tab)\">their quasi-VPN service is open to the public&#8230;for free<\/a>.
