{"id":922,"date":"2016-12-17T21:24:58","date_gmt":"2016-12-18T02:24:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/matthannan.net\/blog\/?p=922"},"modified":"2016-12-17T21:24:58","modified_gmt":"2016-12-18T02:24:58","slug":"openvpn-for-windows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/matthannan.net\/blog\/openvpn-for-windows\/","title":{"rendered":"OpenVPN&#8230;for Windows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, like most times I post to the Internet that I am having an issue with something, the answer becomes immediately available.<br \/>\nThis time, I said that OpenVPN seemed to be Linux-only.<\/p>\n<p>Well, it turns out that this is not so much the case.<br \/>\nWhile reading an article comparing SoftEther VPN to OpenVPN, I noticed that both servers were running on Windows. This lead me to do a bit more research and, lo and behold, the <a href=\"https:\/\/community.openvpn.net\/openvpn\/wiki\/Easy_Windows_Guide\" target=\"_blank\">Windows fork<\/a> seems to be a work of the community and not so much the official stream.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll have to forgive me for this mistake. We are moving soon and what I really want to roll out as a VPN\/Firewall is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pfsense.org\/about-pfsense\/features.html\" target=\"_blank\">pfSense<\/a>&#8230;which has OpenVPN baked in.
