Doings!

Jenny has painted and started decorating the basement room. I installed the cat door last weekend and three of them immediately took to it. One is using it as a toy, even! The other three? Not so much! They are afraid of it, actually! 😮 The two older males have probably spent some time in their lives trapped in basements, so the smell is what is freaking them out, I think. And Ramona is just a freak of Nature. We have two cat boxes down there now and they ARE being used. That leaves one on the first floor and one on the second floor. Last night Jenny realized what she had done to herself! She is a nutjob for scooping poop. I think this weekend we will move the remaining first floor box down there and leave the basement door open so that the remaining cats can get used to the idea that they can and should be heading down there. That will leave one box on the second floor.

Jenny is at home again today. She is waiting for delivery of a chest freezer that will be placed in “the room”. This freezer became a needed item when she rediscovered how much loves Trader Joe’s. I also kind of think that we will be searching out locally grown/slaughtered meat very soon. She’s managed to find out about two local farmer’s markets; a Saturday and a Sunday.

Also, she had the second measurements being taken this morning for eight of the downstairs windows. I am not sure we played this correctly, but whatevs. We were going to start off with three windows and do this in stages throughout the house as we had the money. We saw that Home Despot was offering a loan, but it would have required that we spend six windows worth (minimally) in order to apply. Six became seven. Seven became eight. And then we ditched the loan and are just going to pay cash as we currently have a small pile of it with the tax refund, her bonus and my bonus all landing within a few weeks of each other. That really only leaves four “addressable” windows on the first floor, so we probably should have had those included in the work. Oh well.

Last night we hit “Submit” on the replacement garage door order, too.

As I said to her yesterday, “Doings! We have them going on!!!”

PS: Jenny found my missing Gorilla Glue. I celebrated this by fixing a loose knob on the silverware drawer. 😉
