Breaking the fourth wall

Got a late start today due to rain in the AM and a mixed forecast for the afternoon. I spied the temp and dew points starting to move away from each other, so I went out and got to work.

Front wall framed and mounted!

You can see that my painter started work today. I think she was drunk, though. The above picture was taken just after she dropped the gallon of paint off the ladder.

The boy likes it very much, but he is a bit disappointed that it isn’t a bit wider. I agree. I think it should have been about 6 feet wide. But this will do. I need to get the skin on that front wall, then we have to figure out what we are actually going to put up there for a roof…and how that is accomplished. There is no way I am going to be able to lift the two sheets of 3/4″ plywood up there, so I think those will be used as the replacement floor for the shed.

OH! The windows. They are massive, yes. My planner said that 24″ x 24″ and 24″ x 36″ pieces of plexiglass would be easy to come by. I don’t know if it is the COVID-19 or what, but there are no large pieces of plexi available. And what is available is stupid expensive, like three figures of the 24″ x 24″. I may have to suck it up and build windows using 12″ x 12″ squares.
