Spring is here!
I am working in the outdoor workshop, aka my backyard, today.
The terrible winter seems to finally be defeated.
Over 70F and I am working in shorts.
Just a couple of days ago, it was snowing.
Anyway, Jenny wants new doors on the upstairs bedrooms.… Read the rest

Hello from…
Mobile the Laptop, connected via my iPhone’s hotspot to the OpenVPN server running on the OpenWRT router!
I can see devices on the network, but only the wireless one. I am wondering if this is a firewall issue or something. In any event, it should be easy to fix.… Read the rest
OpenWRT
Well, that was quick.
I was able to make a connection from remote back to the Gargoyle router via the OpenVPN tunnel. But, I was unable to see anything on the LAN. Sure, this was not one of the objectives when I started this journey, but after seeing that option in action in SoftEther, I now want it…because it is wicked cool.… Read the rest
Home Movies
I recently installed a larger capacity hard drive in my computer at home. I went from two 250GB drives to a 1.5TB drive. I also freed up a 1TB external USB drive that I was using for Downloads and general backups.… Read the rest
The Dead and The Restless, Part 2
I can’t believe I never got back to this! Sorry about that.
So, when we left off, we were in a cemetery in Dublin. The Find-A-Grave volunteer that answered my call for photos proved to be one of the best. He made several trips to the cemetery and sent a load of pictures.… Read the rest

Calin’s Irish Citizenship paperwork was kicked back. We need to provide a copy of “a gov’t issued photo ID”. Umm? You mean a passport? Yup.
So that is currently in the works as of last Monday.
DNA: Jenny’s brother’s results are back.… Read the rest
The Dead and The Restless
This is a follow-on to the post about all of the new Flynn info. It is hard for me to come to terms with the fact that while all of that was going and all of the following was getting started, that I was studying for and taking final exams!… Read the rest

Dropbox, Sugarsync, SkyDrive, Google Drive – Build a Cloud Nest!! | Donnanakki.
That is just one of many articles you will find on nesting cloud storage folders within each other. There are plusses and minuses to all of them. I am trying this out with nesting Dropbox (5.6GB total) inside One Drive (28GB total…I got in early).… Read the rest
Find A Grave
I started playing around with the FindAGrave app for iOS and noticed that there was a tiny burial ground (not even a cemetery) a short walk from my house. I also noticed that there was a photo request for one of the stones in that burial ground.… Read the rest
Giving up the ghost
The Grey Ghost, that is.
After spending more time in the shops than out over the last couple weeks, and a couple thousand on credit cards that I will be paying for for a long, long time to come, the Volvo was still not right and I think someone will finally get around to actually doing that compression test that I asked for after it overheated.… Read the rest
